The journey begins from the bustling city of Guwahati and transitions into the peaceful hills of Bhalukpong, where the charm of the Eastern Himalayas starts to unfold. In Dirang, travelers are introduced to the warmth of Monpa culture and the beauty of alpine landscapes, dotted with ancient fortresses and orchid sanctuaries.

Tawang itself is a cultural gem, home to India’s largest monastery, the spiritual Urgelling Monastery, and the moving Tawang War Memorial. The visit to Madhuri Lake and, if conditions permit, the Indo-China border at Bumla Pass, brings in a high-altitude thrill and postcard-perfect Himalayan views.

On the way back, Bomdila and Shergaon offer quieter charms, from serene monasteries and vibrant markets to lesser-known trekking trails and local crafts.
